Overcome Self-Doubt, Earn More

When I first saw this post I stopped in my tracks.

I've since shared it - giving credit - and it's gone viral for me as well.

I wanted to talk about it, because when a post goes viral, it touches on a universal truth.

Clearly, I'm not alone in how it made me feel.

Someone with half your experience is making 10x as you.

Someone with half your experience is making 10x the progress.

Someone with half your experience is achieving their goals.

Not because they’re smarter.

Not because they have more resources.

But because they aren’t overthinking every move.

I used to get stuck in my own head - questioning my decisions, analysing every detail, trying to think my way to the best outcome.

Meanwhile, someone else was already doing.

And that’s the thing:

Competition is increasing each day.

Every second you spend hesitating, someone else is already 10 moves ahead.

Here’s what helped me break free from analysis paralysis:

  • Moving before I felt ready
  • Trusting mistakes like experiments (we need it)
  • Believing in the power of compounding

You don’t need to have all the answers before you start.

But you do need to trust yourself enough to take the first step.

3 things that helped me move faster:

(1) Setting a 48-hour rule - making fast decisions and adjusting them along the way

(2) Surrounding myself with people making big moves

(3) Taking the smallest next step - movement creates clarity. You have to start to get somewhere

The people making the most progress aren’t necessarily the smartest.

They’re just the ones willing to start.

Let me be brutally honest with you.

For most of my career—up until maybe the last six months—I didn’t care about making money.

More recently, I’ve realised that I need money for the lifestyle I want: travel, creating opportunities for others, and living in a great environment.

When we undercharge and sell, we’re not just shortchanging ourselves—we’re also limiting the impact we could have on those who truly need what we offer.

I’ve always leaned toward sharing things for free, but now I’m ready to meet people where they are and make the most of every opportunity.

Here’s to valuing ourselves, charging what we’re worth, and getting paid for the impact we create.

Today's email is sponsored by Constant Contact. I Really Regret This Firstly, hats off to the creators who do it all. It’s not easy to create content—to handle everything yourself, from filming and editing to writing, designing, and staying consistent with it all. That’s why I started Amplify in the first place. I was doing everything myself for Ali Abdaal, Chris Williamson, and Cliff Weitzman (CEO of Speechify). I was good at copywriting, great at strategy (I loved it), but when short-form...
